Working Group Architecture

The WG Architecture was established in 2006. It prepared, among other things, the architecture concept of the SDI Germany (GDI-DE), which was adopted by the federal and state governments and the municipal umbrella associations as version 1.0 in 2007. The architectural concept is constantly being developed and adapted to the state of the art. It describes the further development of a work and action plan as well as the development of an operating model for the components of the SDI Germany (geoportal, spatial data catalogue, test suite and registry). After version 2.0 of the concept was released in 2010, the third version of the concept was published in 2014 in modular form in three documents: "Ziele und Grundlagen" ("Goals and Principles"), "Technik" ("Technology") and "Maßnahmenplan" ("Action Plan"). The latest version of the documents is published on the website.

In addition to the architectural concept, the WG Architecture is developing further technical and strategic foundations for the SDI Germany. The WG is composed of representatives of the federal and state governments. If necessary, it cooperates with experts from economy and science.
