Working Group INSPIRE
The Working Group INSPIRE was established in 2014 and has been mandated by the Conference of Environment Ministers (Umweltministerkonferenz, UMK) and the Steering Committee SDI Germany (Lenkungsgremium GDI-DE) to support the development of GDI-DE as well as the implementation and further development of the INSPIRE Directive at European level from the perspective of national environmental policy and environmental administration. In this context, the Working Group INSPIRE is particularly involved in the streamlining of the INSPIRE Directive with environmental reporting obligations.
The Working Group INSPIRE is managed by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). The members consist of representatives of the federal/state working groups of the Conference of Environment Ministers, the Steering Committee SDI Germany (Lenkungsgremium GDI-DE), the German members of the European "INSPIRE Maintenance and Implementation Group" as well as affected federal authorities.
